Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (“DJJS”) organised a remarkable “Green Diwali” celebration at Nurmahal Ashram, Punjab on 20th October 2025 with the divine grace of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Founder & Head, DJJS). The event beautifully embodied the unique blend of spirituality and environmental consciousness. Held under the banner of DJJS’s Nature Conservation Initiative “Sanrakshan”, the event was themed “Divya Diwali- Tamso Ma Jyotirgamaya” - From darkness to divine light, reminding attendees of the deeper purpose behind the Festival of Lights, awareness, compassion, and ecological balance. Transcending noise and pollution, DJJS’s Green Diwali served as a profound call for introspection, where the light not only illuminated homes but also kindled the radiance of hearts and minds.

The celebration began with a sacred Hawan Yajna and resonant Vedic chants, creating a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Marking an inspiring moment, 1.25 lakh earthen lamps were lit across the ashram premises, artistically arranged in mesmerising patterns and representing the soul’s power to dispel ignorance through the light of Brahm Gyan (Divine Knowledge). The event featured a beautiful confluence of devotional music and environment-themed performances, conveying the message that true celebration lies in simplicity and spiritual depth. The highlight of the program was a captivating thematic dance drama that vividly brought to life sacred ideals. This heartfelt presentation touched every heart, reminding all that Diwali is not merely a festival of joy, but also an occasion for introspection, inner transformation, and reconnecting with higher values.

DJJS’s representatives rightly stated that Diwali, the festival of lights, is not merely about external celebration, but a profound inner journey of igniting the light of the soul. Along with the decorative lights and festive rituals, Diwali holds a deeper spiritual significance; it reminds humanity of the need for awakening and ecological harmony. DJJS preachers emphasised that true light lies in the awakening of the soul, which is possible only through Brahm Gyan (Divine Knowledge) imparted by the perfect spiritual master of the time. With this inner light kindled, every moment of life becomes a Diwali, where every action is guided by compassion and harmony towards nature and all living beings.

The event drew to a close with a serene Mangal Aarti and a collective meditation session, inviting participants to turn inward and experience peace beyond the senses. The program received extensive coverage across leading print and electronic media platforms. Attendees departed not just with festive joy, but also carried home the profound understanding that Green Diwali is more than an environmental gesture, it is a call to live responsibly, spiritually, and in harmony with nature.

For over a decade, DJJS, through Sanrakshan, has been celebrating Green Diwali across India under its “JAAGO- Diwali Reimagined” campaign- an initiative that encourages individuals to reimagine their Diwali celebrations by adopting mindful, eco-friendly practices and celebrating in harmony with nature, reaffirming that true festivity lies in awakening both environmental and spiritual awareness.
