Unravelling the true essence of Diwali i.e. victory of good over evil & light over darkness, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, founded and headed by Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, organized a magnificent Socio-Cultural-Spiritual event in the form of a community festival, on November 4, 2021 at Nurmahal Ashram, Punjab. The event themed ‘Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya’, not only revealed the original aspect of Diwali but also revived its true spirit and inspired masses to go vocal for local.
Thus, the event brought back the traditional way of celebration as upheld by our ancient Rishis, promoting pro-environmental, cracker-free Diwali and supporting the local artisans of India. Over one lakh Diyas (Earthen Lamps) were lighted up sending out a message of sustainable lighting to masses. Considering that Deepawali celebration is incomplete without decorations, which has over the years become plastic intensive based on the principle of use & throw, DJJS took to hundred percent sustainable decoratives upholding the 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse & Recycle of environmental conservation.
Divine Chanting of Vedic Mantra by Brahmgyani disciples of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, special Diwali Aarti, soul-soothing devotional concert, enlightening spiritual discourse by the learned preachers of the organization, and enthralling cultural dance ballet of Punjab - ‘Jago’ by the selfless volunteers encouraging masses celebrate the occasion in its true spirit for spiritual enhancement instead of indulging in malpractices like gambling and intoxication were key highlights of the Program.
Revealing the spiritual significance of Deepawali, Sadhvi Garima Bharti Ji, disciple of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, urged the audience to dispel the darkness of ignorance in their life by realizing the divine light within through Brahmgyan - the eternal science of self-realization.
The celebration, which was attended by thousands of people of all age-groups including the dignitaries and environment enthusiasts of Punjab, was highly appreciated by all and widely covered by the local print and electronic media. The said message of Deepawali celebration with holistic approach was reiterated by DJJS centers across the world too.
From the past few years, DJJS under the banner of ‘Jaago’ campaign of its Nature Conservation Program - Sanrakshan and the Drug Eradication Program – Bodh, has been organizing the glorious events across the country to promote a pollution-free, drug-free, and wholesome Deepawali.
