Reiterating the socio-spiritual & cultural significance of Deepawali, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, headed & founded by Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji organised a cracker-free clean & green Deepotsav on Nov 4, 2021 at its Divya Dham Ashram located in the outskirts of Delhi. In sync with the ancient Indian pro-environmental ways of celebration, the entire premise was decorated with thousands of diyas (handmade earthen lamps) & rangolis made of chemical-free, edible colors & flowers. Thousands of devotees who have been initiated in to Brahmgyan by Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji have been and have seen God within, joined this divine celebration to collectively pray for spiritual upliftment & welfare of humanity.
Diwali is the must awaited and extravagantly celebrated festival across the country. The festival of lights traditionally symbolises the victory of Truth over deceit, good over evil & Light of Divine Knowledge over Darkness of Ignorance. Over the years, the outer celebration has become elaborate & sophisticated however the spiritual essence has gradually gone missing. Verily, the festival of lights has been maligned with some dark practices having a negative social, cultural & environmental impact. Resource intensive, plastic- based decorations, firing crackers for enjoyment, gambling, intoxication and show-offs demean the all rejoicing and unifying spirit of the festival.
With the aim of re-acquainting the society with the pure & pious traditional customs of the festival chalked out by our ancient rishis, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan under the divine guidance of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji has been celebrating Diwali every year in its truest spirit. As thoughtfully sculptured by Indian Rishis highlighting pro-environmental and cultural values, for not mere outer celebration but nourishment of our inner environment.
For the past few years, DJJS under the banner of ‘Jaago’ campaign of its Nature Conservation Program - Sanrakshan and the Drug Eradication Program – Bodh, has been organizing the glorious events across the country, to promote a pollution-free, drug-free, and culture-infused Deepawali.
