Thalassemia is the most common, inherited single gene disorder in the world.   People with Thalassemia Major are not able to make enough hemoglobin, which causes severe      anemia. Treatment includes routine blood transfusions and other therapies. Thalassemia patients are dependent on donated blood to survive.

Giving Blood is simple and easy, and it can save someone's life. There is no substitute for human blood. Blood cannot be manufactured. Blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person like you who makes the choice to donate.
