Since dawn to dusk, we encounter different types of sound on the daily basis. Sound of temple bells, church bells, whistle of pressure cooker, mobiles ringing, computer beeping, cars, traffic and so on. In this cacophony of sound, more aptly can be named as ‘noise’, one has forgotten to listen to himself / herself. One needs to have that moment of silence where one can interact and chat with oneself and discover the purpose of life. This moment is needed every day so that one can overcome ‘noise’ and inculcate positive energy all around.
To invoke this sound within, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) founded and head by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji organized Bhajan Sandhya with ‘Shankhnaad’ as its theme. It was organized by the Gorakhpur Branch of DJJS at Gonda, U.P. from 11th October 2017 to 12th October 2017. The orator of the Bhajan Sandhya was Sadhvi Adya Bharti Ji, preacher disciple of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
Sadhvi Ji weaved the narrative around the main theme of the occasion ‘Shankhnaad’. The Hindi word Shankhnaad means ‘to blow the conch shell’. In Sanskrit tradition, a conch shell is blown on occasions to usher in something new, auspicious, and pious. Sadhvi Ji said that Shankhnaad consumes all the other sounds. In spiritual terms, it is symbolic of existence of the eternal sound within. It is to reach this eternal sound that we humans must all strive. Sadhvi Ji, with the singing of each Bhajan by the accompanying DJJS’s team of trained musicians, conveyed to the assembled devotees that it is possible to attain the eternal sound through ‘Brahm Gyan’, the divine knowledge.
For that to happen, a devotee should seek an enlightened spiritual Master who can uplift the curtain of worldly noise and make the devotee witness the serene sound within. Sadhvi Ji brought the event to a close by extending the invitation to all the seekers to attain Brahm Gyan from a true Master and if they could not find such Master in the contemporary world then one could always take enlightenment from His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
