Food Hygiene Sanskarshala - DJJS Manthan SVK | May 2026

This month, Manthan SVK organized an engaging “Food Hygiene - स्वच्छ आदतें श्रेष्ठ संस्कार” sanskarshala aimed at promoting awareness about food safety, personal hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices. The sessions helped children understand how clean eating habits and disciplined routines contribute to physical, mental, and social well-being.

In May 2026, a total of 68 Food Hygiene Sanskarshala workshops were held, benefiting around 2,230 children across all DJJS branches, including NRI children as well as students from various schools across the country:

The thematic emphasis on Food Hygiene formed the cornerstone of several value-oriented initiatives and thoughtfully designed activities conducted by committed Manthan SVK volunteers:

  • Essential Cleanliness & Mindfulness: Through interactive discussions and storytelling videos, participants learned the importance of thorough handwashing, keeping nails clean, and maintaining a hygienic dining environment. Children were also encouraged to begin meals with gratitude and prayer to foster respect for food.
  • Healthy Eating & Digestion: The sessions emphasized the benefits of eating in a calm, seated posture, chewing food properly for better digestion, and maintaining regular meal timings to support overall health.
  • Smart Food Choices & Consumer Awareness: Children were guided on washing fresh produce, checking expiry dates, and identifying vegetarian/vegan labels. They were also introduced to simple ways of identifying food adulteration to protect against food-borne illnesses, while being encouraged to choose wholesome natural foods over junk food.
  • Daily Hygiene & Practical Responsibility: Students were sensitized to the contamination risks of uncovered food or using devices like phones during meals. To reinforce discipline and self-reliance, a set of practical "Sunday Rules" was introduced, inspiring children to organize their rooms, practice yoga, care for plants, and spend quality time with family.

The sessions drew to a serene close with the collective chanting of the Shanti Mantra, fostering an atmosphere of calm and reflection. Participants offered their respectful obeisance at the sacred lotus feet of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, expressing gratitude and seeking his divine grace and blessings.
