Bhagvad Gita is the congeries of such consecrated gospel that were dictated by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in Kurukshetra and are strongly believed to hold the answer to all the complexities of human life. Gita Jayanti is the celebration of the birth of this pious text that has been eternally profiting humankind.

Geeta Jayanti Celebration @ Central Jail, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan

The inmates of Cental Jail, Sri Ganganagar commended Geeta Jayanti on 18th December’18 with a 2 hour spiritiual discouse and bhajan session organized by Antarkranti in the jail premises.

The program was inaugurated with a lamp lightening ceremony by the hands of Jail superintendent Ashok Verma Ji, DJJS preacher Swami Dheeranand Ji and Puran Chand Ghodela Ji which was accompanied by the chanting of Ganesh Vandana. This was followed by a series of devotional bhajans sung by DJJS preachers Sadhvi Soniya Bharti Ji and Sadhvi Suyahsa Bharti Ji that calmed the minds and created an atmosphere for the audience to become receptive for the spiritual discourses that followed.

Bhagavad Gita is the divine communion of Truth Realisation between Lord Krishna and his disciple Arjuna which is believed to hold the potential to be applied on all levels of human endeavors. Such teachings were disseminated through the oration by Swami Dheeranand Ji who refuted the popular belief among today’s youth that the sacred texts are meant to be read and followed during the latest stages of life. Furthermore, swami ji proclaimed that it is only under the guidance and enlightenment by the Perfect Master that the timeless and universal lesson of Bhagavad Gita can be embraced and enable us to arise victorious in life.

Towards the end of the program, the audience of 175 male inmates and 15 female inmates participated in sing-song of Gita ki Aarti with a spark of collective consciousness.

The event culminated with Ashok Verma Ji praising the efforts of Antarkranti in the sector of prisoners’ transformation, reformation and rehabilitation. He further extended a vote of thanks for the calming oration and melodious bhajans that beautifully captivated the audience.
