‘True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.’
On the occasion of Independence Day 15th August 2018, Manthan- Sampoorna Vikas Kendra did not leave any stone unturned to arise patriotic feelings in the hearts of children and to share the importance of celebrating this day. Plethora of activities were conducted in various centres in order to commemorate the efforts of freedom fighters who fought for our independence.
Children of Mangolpuri and Vikaspuri centre performed cultural dance on patriotic songs as well as prepared a melodious group song which received a huge round of applause. Apart from this Patel Nagar centre asked students to make posters on ‘Uprooting social evils from India’, along with a session on promotion of Vedic Indian culture and language. What can be more fun loving than a Fancy Dress Competition where innocent souls represent powerful freedom fighters, as organised by Badli centre!! Moreover, to gain knowledge and express their thoughts, Faridabad centre conducted an Essay Writing Competition and Gurugram centre planned Poetry competition. To dispense the spirit of independence, Manthanites from Shakurpur centre rallied speaking aloud slogans related to ‘Freedom from illiteracy, child labour’. Nothing can have a long lasting impact than a Nukkad Natak as organised by Dwarka centre on the theme ‘ Hum azaad ho kar bhi azaad nah ho paye’ . As our life is incomplete without a true Guru, Independence Day is also incomplete without Kite Making and Flying as held by Rithala centre on the topic ‘Connect with Indian culture’.
To end the celebration on a happy note, everyone enjoyed Jalebi which is our national sweet and distributed amongst one another. The aim of all of such activities was to make children realise that India has got freedom after continuous efforts, never giving up attitude and zeal of the Indians. So, it is our responsibility to give justice to this independence not only on one day but on each and every day.
