As Diwali, the festival of lights, approached, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), through its Nature Conservation program Sanrakshan, celebrated the festival with an inspiring blend of devotion, awareness, and sustainability.

Continuing its long-standing JAAGO campaign, this year’s theme- “Jaago- Diwali Reimagined”- encouraged individuals to reimagine their Diwali celebrations by adopting mindful, eco-friendly practices and celebrating in harmony with nature. The movement inspired people to move beyond excess and rediscover the essence of Diwali through simplicity, purity, and responsibility toward the planet.
Rooted in the spiritual wisdom imparted by Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, Founder & Head of DJJS, Sanrakshan emphasises that care for nature is an act of devotion- a reflection of balance between the inner light of awareness and the outer responsibility toward creation. Through this initiative, DJJS reminded everyone that by protecting nature, we honour the divine creation itself.

Across DJJS centres in India, ashram premises were decorated using flowers, leaves, mitti diyas, reused materials, and natural colours, replacing plastic décor and synthetic lights. The gentle glow of diyas, fresh floral rangolis, and simple handmade decorations reflected purity, balance, and the true spirit of Diwali.
Not just the natural elements were highlighted, but the original essence of Diwali was also brought forth-the awakening of the inner light and the dissolution of darkness within. DJJS preachers beautifully explained that true celebration lies not merely in lighting lamps outside, but in kindling the flame of consciousness within, which is only possible through Brahm Gyan. Antarghat mein andhakaar mitana aur Ram ka antarghat mein prakatikaran karna hi asli Deepavali hai. The festival thus became a reminder that real transformation begins from within- when the light of wisdom dispels ignorance and radiates outward as compassion and responsibility toward all life.
Many centres hosted exhibitions during the weekly spiritual discourses, along with DIY workshops and pledge boards, where citizens and devotees took vows to celebrate a green and compassionate Diwali. Participants were encouraged to take up the #GreenDiwaliChallenge by adopting small “green swaps” and sharing their pictures as inspiration for others. People enthusiastically took the “I Pledge for a Green Diwali” vow and were honoured with DJJS Sanrakshan Green Warrior Certificates (-certificates distributed) for their eco-conscious efforts. Post Diwali, several centres composted floral decorations, reinforcing the message of sustainability in every step.
The campaign reaffirmed that Diwali shines brightest when celebrated with awareness and reverence for the environment. Under the divine guidance of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, DJJS Sanrakshan continues to nurture ecological harmony, awaken environmental consciousness, and inspire people to live in alignment with both nature and divinity.
