Launching Hues of Transformation

Dipped in the colors of transformation and love comes the festival of holi. Antarkranti, prisoners’ reformation and rehabilitation program launched Herbal Gulaal prepared by the prisoners of Burail Jail, Chandigarh after 3 days Gulaal Training Workshop organized from February 27, 2017 to March 1, 2017. The launch event witnessed the august presence of chief guest IAS Parimal Rai (Advisor to Administrator, Chandigarh), guests IAS Anurag Aggarwal (Home Secretary, Chandigarh), IPS Alok Kumar (IG Prison, Chandigarh), Sh. Satish Kumar Jain (Superintendent,  Model Jail, Chandigarh), Sh. Amandeep Singh (Deputy Superintendent, Model Jail, Chandigarh) and Mr. Parmod Khatri (Assistant Deputy Superintendent). The chief guest and the guests were accompanied by Swami Guru Kirpanand and Swami Vishalanand (DJJS Preachers), Amrit Singh and Manjeet Singh (DJJS Volunteers) and 40 men inmates.

During the launch, DJJS Preacher expressed that developing the skill of Gulaal training would help the prisoners to live a crime-free life post-release to make their living. The change would not only be seen in the thoughts and lives of the inmates but also a change might get initiated in the society regarding the taboo attached to the released prisoners. The outlook of society towards prisoners would also get transformed from resentment to generosity. Mr. Parimal Rai, the chief guest during the valedictory note appreciated the work done by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan for the welfare of the prisoners so that they can live a productive and fruitful life post-release. This could be concluded by just saying-
