SAM - the youth engagement drive of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan organized an exclusive edition in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut and Agroha Vikas Trust Samiti, Meerut on 11th May 2016 at the campus grounds of the university.
Embarking on the unique theme of Kranti Diwas, SAM presented a highly emotive ballet based on the story of Mangal Pandey and the subsequent 1857 revolt, often deemed as India’s first war of independence. Youngsters were touched with the powerful and revolutionary ideals of freedom fighters depicted in the ballet.
The performances paved way for a hilarious and rib-tickling comedy performance by Siddharth Sagar of the Comedy Circus fame. A special dance performance was presented by Shraey Khanna, winner of Reality show India's Dancing Superstar- 2013. The event concluded with an awe-inspiring and highly energetic band performance by fusion band, Eternal Bliss.
Esteemed guest of honor at the event, Dr. Shailya Raj (President , Subharti University) appreciated the work done by SAM for the youngsters and said – “Due to lack of means and motivation, youngsters do not actualize their true potential. Most of the youth is misguided, misled, which becomes the reason of many ill practices such as drug addiction. It is commendable that SAM has created this platform to impact youngsters, guide them and counsel them in all their endeavors.”
“These artists who performed at SAM are the icons for the youth today. SAM has given them a platform to not just entertain the youth but also inspire them towards nation building. And when the youth sees their icons raising a call for something noble, they follow. That is why, we devised this event, to raise a spark of ‘service to nation’ in youth” said SAM Representative.
