.According to the Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Purana, Devi is the feminine energy of the universe that is the essence of everything. From her emanated Maha-Kali- the Shakti of lord Shiva; Maha-Saraswati - the Shakti of Lord Brahma; and Maha-Lakshmi- the Shakti of lord Vishnu. Shedding light on this thought and to further convey the nub of the Puranas, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) organized Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Katha from 05-Dec-2016 to 11-Dec-2016, for the people of Ahmadabad, Gujarat. The entire event was reverberating under the grace of his Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Head and convener of DJJS).

The orator of Katha, Sadhvi Aditi Bharti Ji explained the core elements of Devi Bhagwat Purana to the audience present there. She said that Devi Bhagwat Purana narrates the origin of the primary life force of the universe in the form of the divine feminine, which is Devi. In the beginning was the Nirguna form (beyond human senses, the form of light) which took the form of Saguna (within the reach of human eyes).

However, Katha Vyas citing the dialogue between the mountain king Himalaya and Devi mentioned in the chapter 31 and 32 of the Devi Bhagwat Purana brings to the notice of the audience the technique through which Devi can be seen, heard, and met by humans.  Devi, said katha Vyas, herself says in the dialogue that her Saguna form is Maya- an indication of her existence but not her true form.  Katha Vyas said that Devi in the dialogue expounds to Himalaya that to achieve her in her true form an human must move from worshiping her Saguna form (Idol) to her Nirguna form that is luminous in nature; and the only way (technique) through which that can be attained, continues Devi, is to attain ‘Brahma Gyan’ from an enlightened sage/ master.

The Katha Vyas, hence, encouraged the attendees to seek Brahm Gyan from an awakened Master who could show the luminous form of Devi. She suggested that DJJS is one such non-governmental organization founded and headed by Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji which is equipped to provide Brahma Gyan to the seekers. The audience was in awe after listening to this terse and simplified version of Devi Katha and vowed to tread on the path of spirituality.
