Shri Hanuman symbolizes strength and energy which he draws from his devotion to Lord Rama and Mata Sita. Shri Hanuman Jayanti, celebrated to commemorate the birth of this Vanara god, brings a devotee closer to the various facets of Shri Hanuman’s life events. It not only throws light on his birth but also the manner he conducted himself throughout his life span, i.e., as a staunch devotee of Lord Rama. To bring the gems of spirituality which Shri Hanuman exemplifies, a Bhajan Sandhya was organized on the eve of Shri Hanuman Jayanti under the divine grace of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), on 11 April, 2017, at Faridkot, Punjab. The orator of the event was Sadhvi Rupeshwari Bharti Ji who was accompanied by trained musician preacher disciples of DJJS.
Weaving each devotional song with an eloquent narration pertaining to the life events of Shri Hanuman, Sadhvi Ji conveyed to the audience the importance of having a spiritual purpose in life. Sadhvi Ji said that Shri Hanuman dedicated his entire life to fulfill the purpose of Lord Rama. His devotion to the cause of as well as to Shri Rama was all- consuming to the extent that he did not do any action that was not pleasing to his beloved Lord Rama. However, Shri Hanuman’s devotion was not a blind one but was the result of having faith in his own power to discern the divinity of Shri Rama. Shri Hanuman approaches Shri Rama and his brother Lakshmana disguised as a Brahmin. It is only after completely knowing Shri Rama’s background that Shri Hanuman becomes his devotee.
Sadhvi Ji asserted that there is a difference between faith and belief. While faith is based on tested ideas, belief relies on mere words. Similarly, a devotee should take a step further in her/his journey to the ultimate Brahma by seeking answers to the questions that arise on the path to self-awakening. In this journey, said Sadhvi Ji, attaining a Guru – true spiritual teacher – becomes necessary. For, it is only an enlightened teacher who can address all the questions of a seeker in totality. An enlightened teacher then can show the path that finally leads to inner awakening and to the meeting between the soul and the Brahma while the devotee is still leads the mortal life. An awakened teacher awakens the devotee and thereafter her/his faith makes her/him see Shri Rama and Mata Sita, like Shri Hanuman always sees. Sadhvi Ji ended the Bhajan Sandhya by requesting the audience to seek Brahm Gyan from His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji for he is the awakened spiritual teachers of the epoch.
