Women education is the basis of society. An educated woman teaches her child to distinguish between right and wrong and has the ability to make her child a good and responsible citizen. All that is required is to give her a suitable opportunity. To facilitate this opportunity, the Social Project of the Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), Manthan-SVK has been running an adult education centre called "Syahi" for nearly four years in which women above 21 years of age are being helped in acquiring core subjects like study of Hindi language, basic Mathematics, financial and health literacy skills. Nine such centres have been opened in multiple areas and two new centres (10th and 11th) have recently been inaugurated at Balwant Rai Auditorium, Delhi on 15 September 2019 in which 26 women and 1 man were enrolled. The program was started with Saraswati Vandana, after which Sadhvi Deepa Bharti ji, Sadhvi Narayani Bharti ji, Sadhvi Sudeshna Bharti ji and guests completed the process of lighting the lamp. Students from Vikaspuri Centre of Manthan got everyone's attention with the beautiful presentation of Ganesh Vandana. Nehru Place branch’s Volunteers presented a play through which they explained how an illiterate woman faces many problems in life due to her decision incompetence, such as being deceived even in small accounts, being embarrassed in schools, banks, hospitals, etc due to lack of education which almost destroy their confidence. The children also gave a glimpse of the efforts done by Syahi. Some of the connected beneficiaries from Badli centre also shared their experiences in which they highlighted the positive changes in their own lives from education, stating that education today gave them an opportunity to not only stand in the society with confidence and self-respect but also with their full participation, they are now able to contribute to the development of the country. In the end, an adorable dance performance was performed by Rithala centre students.
Influenced by these efforts of Manthan, the guests themselves expressed their willingness to cooperate in the development of these women and assured to provide any assistance in the coming time. Sadhvi Deepa Bharati, Program Coordinator, Manthan-SVK, DJJS concluded the event by vote of thanks.
