Asato Mā Sadgamaya,
Tamso Mā Jyotir Gamaya,
Marityor Mā Amritamyam Gamaya ||
This prayer, in the Upanishads is a yearning to be lead from falsehood to truth, from darkness to light, and from death to immortality. Resonating the same prayer, a 7-day Devi Bhagwat Katha held at Dwarka, Delhi from August 6th to 12th, 2015 invoked a similar longing in the audiences’ hearts. The program comprised of various musical symphonies that filled everyone’s spirits with joyous devotion towards Ma Bhagwati. The viewers danced to the captivating tunes and rejoiced in the melodious hymns. Furthermore, everyone present was captivated by the discourse conducted by His Holiness Sarv Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji’s disciple, Katha Vyas Sadhvi Sushri Aditi Bharti Ji.
The Katha Vyas explained that Goddess is the Shakti, the energy that prevails within each being. This cosmic energy is the source of all bliss - primarily experienced within an individual and then in the outer world. This Shakti lends her power to create, preserve, and destroy hence this energy is termed as the mother, “Mā Durga”, “Mā Bhagwati”, “Devi Mā”, and the like. Aditi Bharti Ji further explained, the divine plays of Devi Ma’s incarnation, enlightening the masses with the deeper hidden meanings behind her divine acts.
Sadhvi Ji very brilliantly put forth the vision of DJJS i.e. From Self-Awakening to World Peace. She laid special emphasis on the power of Divine Knowledge (Brahm Gyan), which is the eternal technique of self-realization. It empowers an individual to see the TRUE DIVINE LIGHT within. She further emphasized that the world today needs such enlightenment to rid it of all the vices. With regular practice of Brahm Gyan’s meditation technique, which enables one to focus on the inner divine light, one can achieve ultimate peace and bliss. Sadhvi Ji revealed the form Ma Shakti takes to eliminate evils from the minds of all as well as from the society as a whole.
Sadhvi Ji spoke about some of the degrading issues in our society that need attention. She asserted that these issues could only be solved by aligning individual minds to a peaceful state of bliss. She spoke about the dreaded issues of global warming, female feticide, as well as the need for conservation of the Indian breed of cows. She also shed light on the organization’s social welfare programs such as Sanskaran, Santulan, and Kamdhenu to name a few. Sanskaran is striving to preserve Mother Nature, Santulan to bring about gender equality and educating the public on the importance of a girl-child, and Kamdhenu is thriving to conserve the Holy cow. All these endeavors are contributing towards the organization’s vision of peace on Mother Earth.
Ultimately the event did not just fulfill its purpose of spiritual strengthening and enhancing devotion towards Goddess Durga, additionally it was an eye-opener for the masses to arise, awake, and tackle today’s problems with the right guidance and claim the awaiting victory over the immoralities.
