In today’s digital era, where smartphones and social media dominate daily life, excessive screen use is quietly impacting attention, relationships, and mental well-being. Recognizing this growing concern, Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS), through its Bodh initiative, in collaboration with Yuva Pariwar Sewa Samiti (YPSS), launched a nationwide campaign titled “Unplugging – Digital से दूर नहीं, बस Mindful हो जाओ.” What began as an awareness initiative soon evolved into a powerful movement of self-realization and behavioral change.

Through 47 sessions across 10 states, 13,604 individuals became conscious of their digital footprint under the ‘Unplugging Campaign’

Campaign Reach & Impact

Conducted from October 2025 to February 2026, the campaign reached 13,604 individuals through 47 sessions across 10 states & UTs, including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Karnataka, and Delhi. It engaged diverse groups—students, parents, professionals, and senior citizens—making the message widely relatable.

Realizations That Sparked Change

The true success of the campaign lay in the deep personal realizations experienced by participants:

  • “Are we using the phone, or is the phone using us?” became a thought-provoking moment for many
  • Students acknowledged losing time and focus due to excessive screen use
  • Parents reflected on declining family interactions
  • Youth recognized the impact of constant notifications on their mental peace
  • Senior citizens expressed the need for balanced digital engagement

These insights emerged naturally through interactive discussions and self-reflection activities.

Innovative Engagement Formats

The campaign featured 7 unique, experience-based formats tailored for different groups:

  • “Who’s the Real Boss” workshops encouraged self-evaluation of digital habits
  • Ground School Fest promoted outdoor play among children
  • Parents workshops focused on building digital discipline at home
  • Senior citizen Sessions highlighted mindful usage
  • Kids workshops used storytelling and games for early awareness
  • Park programs engaged communities through nukkad natak and exhibitions
  • Street quizzes created interactive public awareness

These formats ensured active participation and deeper connection with the message.

From Digital Detox to Digital Discipline

A key outcome was a shift in mindset—from avoiding technology to using it mindfully. Participants adopted simple practices such as:

  • Setting screen-time limits
  • Creating no-phone zones during meals
  • Prioritizing real life interactions
  • Becoming aware of usage triggers

Media Coverage

The campaign also received wide media recognition, with coverage across regional newspapers, digital platforms, and local media channels. Its practical approach to addressing digital overuse was widely appreciated, helping amplify the message to a larger audience.

Guided by DJJS’s spiritual wisdom, the campaign emphasized that true control lies over the mind, not technology. With awareness and discipline, digital tools can become instruments of growth rather than distraction.

“Unplugging – Digital से दूर नहीं, बस Mindful हो जाओ” has thus emerged as a people’s movement, inspiring individuals to adopt a more balanced, conscious, and fulfilling way of living.
