Indriya Nigrah Sanskarshala – षष्ठ धर्म लक्षणम्, true strength lies in mastering one’s senses. Indriya Nigrah teaches the art of self-discipline, restraining the senses from wrong actions and directing them toward righteous conduct. When our thoughts, speech and actions are guided by awareness rather than impulse, life becomes balanced, purposeful and value-driven. This Sanskarshala aims to inspire participants to practice inner control as the foundation of character and spiritual growth.

In September 2025, a total of 105 Sanskarshala workshops were held, benefiting around 7835 children across all DJJS branches, including NRI children as well as students from various schools across the country.

Indriya Nigrah Sanskarshala – षष्ठ धर्म लक्षणम्, conducted by dedicated Manthan-SVK volunteers, children explored the mindful use of their five senses - eyes, tongue, nose, ears and skin. They learned how each can influence their health and behavior. The session highlighted the importance of limiting screen time, showing how excessive exposure affects sleep, focus and imagination. Awareness was created about avoiding unhealthy preserved foods, emphasizing their effect on growth and immunity. Students discovered the consequences of listening to loud sounds, understanding its impact on concentration, mood and long-term hearing.

Through interactive storytelling and explanation of dohas (couplets), children grasped how misuse of senses can lead to negative habits and imbalanced routines. Creative activities allowed them to identify daily sensory triggers and practice healthier choices. They reflected on how careful use of sight, taste, smell, hearing and touch can cultivate self-discipline, respect and emotional balance. Practical examples, like mindful eating, attentive listening and conscious observation, showed how small actions shape overall behavior. The session encouraged children to seek guidance from elders and teachers while implementing sensory awareness in everyday life. Ultimately, they understood that nurturing the senses responsibly strengthens clarity, harmony and personal growth. On that note, sessions concluded with the chanting of shanti mantra and prayers. Everyone paid their humble salutations unto the lotus feet of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
