DJJS Bengaluru conducted a Health Awareness Workshop on ‘Stress Management’ with the 40 CA students of Brilliance Professional Academy, Kalaburagi in Karnataka on 12th of March 2019. The workshop was conceived to inspire students to better understand the far reaching effects of Stress on our mental, emotional & physical wellbeing and to deliver realistic solutions to cope with the Stress.
During one and a half hour workshop, DJJS Representative Sadhvi Ritu Bharti ji started the workshop with in depth discussion for better understanding - what stress is; stress vs. pressure and varied reasons of stress in life especially during exams. She further talked about two types of stress – Eustress & Distress. Eustress is a positive stress having following characteristics…motivates, focusses energy; is short term; feels exciting & improves our performance; whereas Distress is a negative stress causing anxiety or concern; is perceived as beyond our coping capabilities; long term; decreases performance & leads mental and physical illness, which is further a matter of concern. Through a presentation on ‘Managing vs. Mismanaging Stress’, Sadhvi ji gave various applicable solutions & tactics for managing stress more effectively especially during crucial life situations in consort with regular Praying and Meditation so as to improve and maintain our physical, mental and spiritual health.
The session ended with an interactive session with the participants wherein DJJS Representatives Sadhvi Ritu Bharti and Sadhvi Nishanka Bharti answered to their queries. Eminent guests Mr. CA Prashant Bijaspur, Director of Principles & Practice Accounting, Economics & Taxation, BPA) and Mr. CS Mahesh Bawge Director, Business and Corporate Law also attended the workshop.
