Under the divine guidance of the founder and head of the organization, His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) has been organizing ‘Vilakshan Yog Shivirs’  free of cost, to create awareness and encourage practice of Yoga amongst people as the indigenous manner of healthy lifestyle. DJJS ‘Vilakshan Yog Shivir’ is a special camp which enumerates the significance and techniques of ‘Yoga and Pranayama’; in overall healing of the body and attainment of perfect equilibrium and harmony. The shivir covers yogasans, pranayama, relaxation techniques, meditation as well as ayurvedic health care tips.

Holistic health and well-being ensured through ‘Vilakshan Yog Shivir’ at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

One such an empowering and energizing Yoga Camp- ‘विलक्षण योग शिविर’, was organized by DJJS Shimla for two days at Ridge Maidan, Mall Road, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh on 5th & 6th of May 2018. DJJS preacher and an adept in yoga, Swami Vigyananand ji along with his team undertook ‘Yogasanas and Pranayama’ sessions in the morning hours from 6am to 8am.

The camp was commenced by lamp lightening by Smt. Neeraj Chandela, (SDM, Shimla), Shri Rakesh Sharma, (Deputy Mayor, Shimla) & Smt. Vanita Verma (Division Manager, Tara Devi, Shimla). The sessions started with various warming up activities, followed by teaching of various simple yet profound yogasanas and pranayam for a healthier body and calm mind by Swami ji. Yogasanas like Tadasana, Dandasana, Padmasana, Uthita Padmasana, Dhanurasan, Vajrasan, Shavasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Chakrasana, Shalabasana, Suryanamskar, etc. and Pranayama like Bhastrika, Anuloma-Viloma, Kapalbhati, Bhramri, etc. were taught to the participants in a very simple & systematic way. While enlightening on their benefits, he said that Yogasanas & Pranayam Techniques provides fitness on both physical and psychological level. Daily one hour of Yoga increases strength, flexibility & immunity of the body by improving blood circulation. It helps us to cope with chronic pains and negative emotions as well.

Everyone present took a pledge to practice yoga daily. The session ended with Om chanting’ and recitation of mantras such as Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah’ and Shanti Path’ (peace prayer) seeking health, peace and harmony for all.

Over 330 of people, comprising of 150 men, 130 women & 50 children, participated with great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. They pledged that they will practice yoga and make it part of their life. The chief guest Smt. Neeraj Chandela appreciated the efforts of Sansthan and said that it was a refreshing & renewing experience to be a part of this event.
