The role of ancient India in nourishing the world is universally evident. Its contribution in furnishing a strong base for the world with her distinguished intellect, inventions/discoveries, rich culture, and values is an endless saga. Truly speaking, had India not provided this foundation, it would have been impossible for the world to tread the road of success and progress.


But, Past is past. The role of India in the present-day world is of more concern. Sometime back, a conference was held. In that, one of the participants, a patriot, started narrating the great contributions of ancient India to the world. Immediately then, another person stood up. Only superficially Indian, his mind and brain were all coloured in the shades of British. He shot a sarcastic remark– ‘Why do you always play the same old, stale tunes? Do you have anything new to credit to your being an Indian?’ The other person could not reciprocate and remained silent.
