Salute to the 'Father of the Nation (India)'!

Aainek Pehne... Laathi Thaame... Chalte the wo Shaan Se... Vande Maataram... Bande mein tha Dum!

...
This is an extract from a Hindi song dedicated to one of the most famous, peaceful, political leaders of the world. He is not the first eminent personality and will not be the last, but his work and spirit were of so high status that he will always be honoured in India as the 'Father of the Nation'. Yes, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi- affectionately known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapu, will always be the root of today's independent India.

As a tribute and salute to the 'Father of the Nation', let's flip through some pages of history, to grasp few beautiful inspirations from the life, values and thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi.

Inspirational Nugget #1

It relates to the time when Mahatma Gandhi was on his way to Darjeeling on a train. All of a sudden, the engine got separated from the coaches. As a result, the coaches started rolling backwards and the engine went straight up ahead. Gosh! It was a life and death situation for everyone sitting in that train. High panic crept up amongst the passengers. The coaches of the train could go off the hill at any moment.

However, even in that situation of crisis, Gandhiji was calm and continued dictating some important points to the person whom he used to call Banglori. But, Banglori being one among the passengers was also afraid of the impending danger. He tried to make Gandhiji take hold of the situation on time and asked, "Bapu, are you aware of what is happening and what might happen? The train has started rolling back and we might not be alive after few moments if some rescue aid doesn't turn up."

After listening to Banglori's statement, Gandhiji calmly said, "And what if we are saved? Well, in that situation, all the precious time, which I will spend in an otherwise uncontrollable thing, will be lost. Then who will repay for the wasted time? No one can give my time lost back." Saying so, he continued dictating and Bangalore kept on writing with shivering hands.

Ultimately, what was the outcome of the situation? ...

How do we react in situations of crisis? Are we patient enough?

Do we realise the importance of time?

It feels bad, but the reality is that today we are highly impatient than before. ...

As per as the time factor is concerned, we waste it in abundance. ...
