Let's hypothesis a unique panel of big-wig Nobel laureates, scientists, writers, etc. - all assembled together on one table to discuss the ever-mysterious subject of God. The ideas and opinions of the intelligentsia presented through this discussion are original and sourced from their talks or writings. Through the assembly, we will try to reach to the all-time mind-boggling questions, such as- Does God exist? How does He look like? Etc. The host is facilitating the discussion to keep the flow of thoughts scream-lined.
Host: You all are the Representatives of those fraternities, which are unquestionably intellectual and logical. In this purview, what would you say about the existence of God? Newton Sir, if I can start from you...
Sir Isaac Newton: From His true Dominion it follows that the true God is a living, intelligent, and powerful being; and from His other perfections, that He is supreme, or most perfect. He is eternal and infinite, omnipotent and omniscient; that is, His duration reaches from eternity to eternity; His presence from infinity to infinity; He governs all things, and knows all things that are or can be done. (1687, Principia; also Caputo 2000, 88).
Host: Dr Einstein, after driving so deep into science and unfolding the secrets of this cosmos, do you believe in the existence of any entity called God.
Dr Einstein: The more I study science the more I believe in God. (As cited in Holt 1997). The deeper one penetrates into nature's secrets, the greater becomes one's respect for God. (As cited in Brian 1996, 119).
Louis Pasteur: (I also vouch for this truth.) The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator. Science brings men nearer to God. (As cited in Lamont 1995; also Timer 1990, 75).
Host: You say that science brings men nearer to God. But, on the contrary, we get to see so many atheistic notions prevailing in the minds of the believers of science.
Scientist say God cannot be seen!
But, super-scientists say, He can be seen! How? To know this and further more read the complete article of monthly magazine of English Akhand Gyan July'2018.
