Plant products come with innumerable benefit. They also induce diversity to the food we eat. One can try cherishing these benefits by following a plant based diet that nature provides us. The team "vegan" is coined for people restricting their diet strictly to plant based foods. Some of the preferred foods include tempeh, seitan, tofu, kale, broccoli, quinoa, ground flaxseeds, ground cheap seeds, raw almonds and walnuts, raw almonds butter, olive oil, all kinds of berries, figs, avocados, tomatoes, lentils, black beans, spirulina, hemp seeds, nutritional yeast, organic soymilk, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, apples, peaches, mangoes, pineapple, garlic, red wine, green tea, brown rice, sprouted (floorless) bread, brown rice, steel-cut oats.

With ageing, health deteriorates and one is impaired by the clutches of obesity, heart problems, diabetes, high blood pressure etc. It has been proven that plant based diet is helpful in all these problematic dimensions, provided one keeps hands off the processed foods. The processed foods with flour and sugar, along with fried foods, aren't healthy even if it's all plants. The soundest populations health-wise, with best longevity, are seen following the plant based diet. For instance, the Okinawans, who traditionally eat mostly plants such as sweet potatoes, soya beans, lots of veggies; the Sardinian, who eat beans and veggies mainly; and, the vegan Seventh Day Adventists in Loma Linda, who are the longest living Ameriçans. Eating plants is the goodliest of all things that you may do to reduce the risk of primary causes of death.
Vegetarian and vegans weigh on the average less than the non-vegetarian. This is even after taking into account the necessities like fibre and conscious calorie intake. Half of the Americans are obese but vegans tend to be much less obese with few exceptions. Although going vegan does not promise less weight since one can easily end up eating sugar, white flour, fried foods which increase their weight. With only plant based foods, weight is likely to get reduced. Food items based on plants have low calories, high fibre and no saturated fat; while animal foods have saturated fat, high calories and zero fibre.
Vegetarians, as compared to omnivores, have healthy bones and higher blood protein levels. According to a study Daniel 1:8-16, those thriving on plant-based diet for few weeks showed improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol, insulin resistance, C-reactive protein level and lowering inflammation.
