To spread the awareness of heart-related diseases and leading people to a healthy life, a Health Awareness Workshop ‘Heart Disease – Causes & Prevention’ was organized by DJJS Nagpur, Maharashtra on 25th of November 2018 at Durga Nagar, Manewada Road in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
To educate people about the health of the heart, Dr. Aallam from ‘SAAOL Heart Centre, Nagpur, was invited. During a one & half hour awareness workshop with around 400 participants, Dr. Aallam began the session with a note that the cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the world's biggest silent killer of all non-communicable diseases and more than 17.5 million deaths are caused by it all around the world, so it is very important to take care of heart health. He sensitized about the most prevalent cardiovascular diseases i.e. Heart attack & Strokes and their risk factors such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, smoking, diabetes, & family history; along with the precaution & measures that can be taken to avoid developing heart ailments. Some inspirational & informative videos were shown to the participants.
He said that ‘one’s lifestyle is the best defense against various heart diseases as a healthy heart requires an equally healthy lifestyle’, so happiness, lack of stress, a healthy diet, regular exercise are important for Healthy Heart. Participants were given easy tips for adopting healthy lifestyle inclusive of zero oil cooking, regular exercises, yoga, pranayama & meditation to combat & prevent heart diseases. Also during an interactive session different queries of participants were answered. At the end of the workshop, Advocate Dr. Kishore Gautam expressed gratitude to Dr. Aallam for an eye opener workshop and presented him the literature of the organization.
