A day after, the nation celebrated its 68th Independence day, when the people of the country were relishing an extended weekend, the troop of young selfless women volunteers of DJJS Karkardooma, jolted masses at Shipra Mall, Karkardoma with their power packed play performance on the theme 'My Earth, My Responsibility' to remind them of their responsibility towards mother earth.
Raising slogans of environmental protection, the young volunteers of DJJS marched through the mall premises, floor after floor, drawing attention of the people towards the ever raging environmental concern. People who were busy shopping, youth who were just hanging out, men, women and children who were out to enjoy their weekend, watched in rapt attention as these young women performed an enlightening skit highlighting diverse environmental issues.
The program redefined freedom in terms of environment. Freedom is not only the ability to exercise your rights but freedom comes with certain responsibilities. Reiterating the fact, DJJS called for freedom from greed, freedom from plunder, freedom from devastation.
“As we step into the 68th year of our independence, it’s high time we remember our responsibility towards environment and work together to for the creation of pollution, garbage, and disease and disaster free society”, appealed the young DJJS volunteers.
The mall premises resounded with applause by hundreds of men, women and children who witnessed the power packed performance by DJJS volunteers. They not only appreciated the effort but pledged to take up their responsibility towards environment.
To kick start, several of them flocked at Sanrakshan awareness desks to seek answers to their environment queries and take home their tips for conserving mother earth.
