Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) launched a yearlong nationwide mass awareness and sensitization campaign “Tu Hai Shakti” against sex selective abortions on March 27, 2016 at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi under the banner of its Gender Equality Program - Santulan; declaration by Hon'ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Sh. J. P. Nadda. As communicated in the event, the campaign purports to cover more than 6000 areas including villages, towns and districts in 8 states of India - Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, New Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttrakhand, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh through 77 execution points; wherein 8 women ambassadors representing each state along with 25,000 volunteers would be carved as change agents to mobilize action and thus sensitize lakhs of people across the country against gender injustice.
The mega event led off with mesmerizing devotional songs diffusing women power in the air along with enlightening commentary quoting instances from revered Srimad Devi Bhagwat Mahapuran text. Case study of Maa Shakti was taken to discuss the ideal state of a woman. Taking it forward, Sadhvi Deepika Bharti Ji, disciple of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and program coordinator of Santulan gave a brief introduction of “Tu Hai Shakti” campaign, its objective and strategy of implementation at national level. With relevant illustrations and clarifications on preconceived myths against girl child, she discussed how problem of sex selective abortions is leading to rise in crimes against women and further degradation of their status. She also shared Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji's vision to reinstate the lost dignity of women through spiritually awakening societal consciousness.
Subsequently, the organization got the launch of aforementioned “Tu Hai Shakti” campaign declared by Hon'ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Sh. J. P. Nadda. An exclusive dance ballet projecting the plight of women on the theme song of said campaign was presented by volunteers of santulan, along with. Hon’ble MP & National Secretary of BJP Sh. Maheish Girri presented his views on the strength of youth power to end social menaces. Subsequently, women ambassadors from each of the 8 chosen states were given ‘sankalpa patras’ by the Hon'ble Chief Guest. Further, Hon’ble Chief Guest in his address shared his take on the ever-worsening status of women & increasing crimes in society due to sex selective abortions. "We have regulatory mechanism which act as social deterrent, there are laws which are enforced, but a change from within is needed which will be a solution to the problem of sex selective abortion and gender inequality in the country,” said Sh. Nadda. Hon’ble Minister also assured the government's support to the ‘Tu Hai Shakti’ campaign of the organization. The event continued with oath ceremony by campaign state ambassadors as a commitment to work proactively to achieve the prescribed goal.
Another beauteous dance ballet on Mahishasur Mardini was presented reiterating women potential in the form of Shakti to portray intolerance to crimes and immorality by building solidarity. The misconceptions unfolded in the true meaning of Mahishasur Mardini kept the audience awestruck.
The secretary of the organization Swami Narendranand Ji shared special token of gratitude in the form of vote of thanks followed by mementos to the chief guest and the guest of honor, along with thanking the socially conscious lot of Delhi present as stupendous audience of the event including eminent doctors, para-medical staff, advocates, judges, charted accountants, scientists, institutional heads, college delegations, women groups and youth groups.
Towards the end, High-Tea was served against a display of sensitizing exhibition on sex selective abortions and organization’s works in the same field. The organization is striving to alleviate women from all shackles of powerlessness by empowering her at soul level. This contagious sense of empowerment will eventually eradicate all the women related issues from grass root level and lead to attainment of ideal state of gender equilibrium.
