As the urban environments choke due the smoke emitted through automobiles and industries; kitchen gardens, community parks and district parks are seen as the indispensable lungs for the ever expanding urban dwellings. Bearing this in mind, DJJS branch based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh undertook a tree plantation drive in the community park of Residential colony, Jagrati Vihar on Friday, 15 May 2015, under the DJJS Nature Conservation Program – Sanrakshan.

After a sensitization walk through the colony, the team of young nature conservators, planted over 100 saplings of different varieties in the community park along with the residents of the colony. Sadhvi Lokesha Bharti, preacher disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji, in here sensitizing lecture explained, “Relationship between human and nature is eternal. Human lives have been always nourished by the gifts of nature. However in the run of development man has forgotten that his man- made world is a product of nature only and unforeseen plunder of nature would eventually lead to complete devastation. It is for this reason, His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji emphasizes the conservation of fading human- nature relationship as the foundation of any and every conservation activity”.

Motivated by the philosophy of DJJS Sanrakshan program, the locals thanked the organisation for undertaking this life giving tree plantation drive in their area. And they pledged to put in special efforts to maintain the existing trees and newly planted saplings.
