DJJS Shimla organized 'Vilakshan Yog Shivir'

 ‘विलक्षण योग शिविर’, was organized by DJJS Shimla for two days at Aggarwal Dharamshala, Longwood in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh on 2nd & 3rd September 2017 for the people residing in Longwood & Kasumpati Area. DJJS preacher and an adept in yoga, Swami Vigyananand ji along with his team undertook Yogasanas and Pranayama sessions in the morning hours from 6am to 8am.

Promotion of the aforementioned Yoga camp was done through putting banners on prime locations and canvasing & distribution of pamphlets by a team of DJJS volunteers.

On first day of the camp, Swami Vigyanand ji and his team taught various Yogasanas like Shavasana, Padmasana, Uthita padmasana, Dhanurasan, Vajrasan, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Chakrasana, Shalabasana, Suryanamskar, etc. During the session, Swami ji enumerated that modern day lifestyle is as such where people struggle with physical and physiological stress in their lives and why this proactive YOGA discipline should be the part of our lives. He further enlightened the participants that Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan comes as a rescue to alleviate the physical and mental stresses in people through Yogasanas, Surya Namaskar and Pranayama along with relaxation and meditation techniques.

On the second day Swami Vigyanand ji undertook pranayama sessions with the participants, enlightening on the benefits of Pranayama like Bhastrika, Anuloma-Viloma, Kapalbhati, Bhramri, etc. He said, “Based on the holistic principles of harmony and unification within body and self, Yoga’s simple postures leave a powerful impact against busy lifestyle demands. It is not only a great solution to stay fit, but has also emerged as an alternative form of therapy. 90% of chronic ailments like asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, arthritis are due to Mental Stress in the people and have found a great solution in Yoga. More than a discipline to stay fit and healthy, Yoga acts as a link between an individual and his true inner self. This ancient science has brought time-tested ways to treat stress and ailments gifted by the modern lifestyle”.

Over 220 of people participated with great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. They pledged that they will practice yoga and make it part of their life. One of the participants said- “It was a perfect kick start to a healthy morning while learning Yoga and Pranayama techniques and appreciated the efforts of Sansthan.
