DJJS Santulan, the Women Empowerment and Gender Equality initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), under the guidance of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji conducted a dynamic gender sensitising workshop titled Superwoman: A Compliment or a Burden? in Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC), University of Delhi. The workshop was conducted on 1st April 2026, in collaboration with the Women’s Development Cell of DCAC in observance of International Women’s Day under DJJS Santulan’s annual month-long campaign, Swabhiman.

Sadhvi Deepika Bharti Ji, Global Head, DJJS Santulan & a dextrous orator of Ram Katha in both English and Hindi languages, delivered an insightful talk seamlessly weaving together the discourse with interactive activities and artistic presentations that kept the participants both engaged and introspective. The session unfolded like a well-crafted tapestry, with a powerful skit that subtly unravelled the often-unspoken pressures women carry, followed by a vibrant reel mashup choreography that captured the layered realities modern women navigate, challenging the status quo of society while striving to reclaim their dignity and identity.
Through contextual case studies inspired by anecdotes of Indian history, highlighting queens, warrior women, and revolutionaries, Sadhvi Ji juxtaposed their journeys with the nuanced challenges faced by women of today. It created a striking parallel that was both grounding and empowering. With a fine blend of warmth, wit, and wisdom, the talk encouraged the audience to pause and reconsider whether the idea of a “superwoman” is truly a compliment or a cleverly disguised burden.

The student representatives of the WDC, Anshu, Shreyas Vijay Wankhede, Kartikey Sharma shared that the session quietly unsettled their “fixed ideas” without imposing any conclusions. They appreciated how Sadhvi Ji created a space that resonated strongly with a Gen Z mindset, going beyond surface-level “woke” conversations and social media narratives, and instead encouraging deeper, more authentic reflection. As they put it, “It felt like the kind of conversation our generation actually needs, real, introspective, and not just performative.”
Dr. Poonam Rani, Convenor of Women’s Development Cell & Faculty, DCAC, shared that while academic spaces are often dominated by sessions centred on information, skills, or career trajectories, a workshop like this carve out a rare and meaningful space for deeper human engagement, often overshadowed in today’s achievement-driven environment. Appreciating the initiative for going beyond shaping informed individuals to nurturing empathy, awareness, and a more inclusive understanding of gender values, she expressed a strong interest in fostering sustained collaborations with DJJS Santulan to continue creating such impactful spaces for students.
Through this successful collaboration with the University of Delhi, DJJS Santulan further strengthens its commitment to shaping future generations that recognise and embrace women's empowerment and gender equality, fostering informed, responsible, and sensitive individuals who can emerge as positive agents of change in society.
