In the march of its ‘Walk Through Villages’ – a Women Empowerment Drive, Meerut branch of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), a socio-spiritual worldwide organization conducted yet another milestone event sensitizing the masses of the crime afflicted state of India – Uttar Pradesh.

An Awareness Walk marking absolute intolerance towards rising crime against women in U.P. involved more than five hundred womenfolk as peer educators of the message of Sansthan’s Gender Equality Program – Santulan. Santulan, a social initiative of DJJS works for the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women (DAW) and violence against women (VAW).

Propagating virtous philosophy of the moving spirit behind Santulan - Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, the head and founder of DJJS; women and girls from institutions, communities and even streets came forward to howl loud against atrocities done with them.

The awareness march started from Bholeshwar Mandir and touched various significant landmarks such as Shastri Nagar, Central Market, Garh Road finally reaching Radha Govind Banquet Hall for a halt wherein a heart throbbing lecture was delivered by Sadhvi Lokesha Bharti Ji, disciple of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.

Smt. Rekha Gupta, President of Mahila Morcha, Shastri Nagar Mandal, BJP, Smt Anju Pandey, President of Beti Foundation & Inner Wheel Club, Shastri Nagar and Smt Kamla Jain, a  Social Worker formed the panel as guests of honour. The event concluded with a thought provoking theatrical presentation by young girls over the somber issue of rapes, trafficking, abduction, honor killings and eve teasing which brought tears in many of the audience’s eyes including the press and the media.

DJJS has been on a rigrous spree creating awareness over gender injustice throughout India.
