Even after years of independence and formation as a republic country, there still exists in most parts of India a strong dislike for the girl child. Huge number of crimes against females continue to be reported across the country. Female foeticide and abuse against women are the two major crimes among these. The reasons for such occurrences stem from the orthodox malpractices of age old tradition. Females aren’t regarded as beings capable of adding value to the society in comparison to men. In other words, women are rather considered to be a liability.
However, there exists a solution, which can stop the hate crimes against women. To spread awareness about the same, Nari Shakti Jagran Samiti in association with DJJS’s initiative Santulan organized a special workshop titled JAAGO (Awaken) at Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj on 1st February, 2019. The high-points of the program were, theatrical performance against female foeticide, musical presentations, standup comedy, and a lecture by Sadhvi Om Prabha Bharti Ji. The entire program conveyed the message that before anything else, we humans are spiritual beings. The focus hence shouldn’t be on subordinating any person on the basis of gender.
Sadhvi Ji said that to resolve the problems mentioned above, we all need to deeply reflect within. But for that to happen, we must have the eye, i.e., the inner wisdom. This can only happen when we, under the guidance of a true spiritual Master (Guru), attain Brahm Gyan (enlightenment). Brahm Gyan is the ancient Indian sacred technique of realizing God within. The Guru opens the third eye with which we can see our inner vices and actions resulting from them. We can then make better judgments about the repercussions of our deeds and stop ourselves from performing inhuman crimes not just against women but all living beings. With Brahm Gyan, we come to understand the true value of our human birth which is to advance along others and not alone. Therefore, Sadhvi Ji urged the audience to seek a true Guru and attain Brahm Gyan from her/him. In this regard, DJJS will always remain the righteous door to knock.
