A curious mind is the secret to a big eye-opening exploration. This amazing ability drives students to research, to foster learning and be inquisitive. Manthan - Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK), is a social initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), providing value-based education to the children in need through its holistic approach of development . Manthan SVK, realising the need to create scientific temper and cultivate the spirit of curiosity and innovation, organised an educational visit to the Atal Tinkering Laboratory (ATL) at the Darbari Lal DAV Model School (D.L.D.A.V), Shalimar Bagh on 7th May, 2022. Around 36 Manthanites and volunteers had the opportunity to be the part of this field trip.
The principal of D.L.D.A.V school, Mrs. Reena Rajpal facilitated Manthan SVK teachers and warmly welcomed the students at the Atal Tinkering Laboratory (ATL) while acknowledging their confidence and the keen observational skills of the young minds. Manthanites had the first-hand opportunity to implement - ‘Do It Yourself’ approach with 3-tier, 4-tier physics models and explored concepts such as friction, speed, time and distance. Students visualised real-time 3-D image printing at the 3-D Lab and Scientific Park. Children also got the chance to understand the science and technology behind various models developed by the D.L.D.A.V students. A visit to the biology lab piqued students' interests as they watched living creatures and gained awareness about the human skeleton system.
Manthan alumni shared their learning experiences and felt honoured to be Manthanites. Later, the teachers visited the principal’s office to further discuss learning opportunities for the future visits at the Atal Tinkering Laboratory (ATL) and also suggested some fun-filled learning activities while exploring new concepts at the biology lab for the students.
