As the world gets all set to mark 2nd #योगदिवस 2016, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan under its Holistic Health Program – ‘Aarogya’ undertook massive yoga drive on second International Day of Yoga 2016 through its wide network of hundreds of centers across the globe. With a 5-point sequence of sessions including, Asanas, Pranayama, spiritual discourse on the ancient concept of yoga ‘Yog & Spirituality’, Samuhik Dhyana (group meditation to harness spiritual potential) and ‘Shanti Paath’ peace prayers seeking health, peace and harmony for all; tens of thousands were benefited through the ‘Vilakshan Yog shivirs’, unique model of yoga developed by the organization.
On December 11 in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. The declaration came after the call for the adoption of June 21st as International Day of Yoga by Hon’ble Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014 wherein he stated: "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature."
Under the divine guidance of the founder and head of the organization His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, DJJS through ‘Vilakshan Yog Shivirs’ has been promoting Yoga as an intangible cultural heritage of India for the last two decades. Not just revival of school of yoga but also promotion of traditional knowledge of Ayurveda is the motive behind these ‘Vilakshan Yog Shivirs’. These camps enumerate the significance and importance of Yogasanas, Pranayama & Dhyana in overall healing of the body and mind and attainment of perfect equilibrium and harmony. ‘Vilakshan Yog Shivirs’ have become a benchmark to create awareness and encourage practice of Yoga in corporate houses, govt. offices, organizations, communities, societies, clubs and institutes.
International Yoga Day is a more than welcome move and proud moment for millions associated with the organization, who are initiated into the practice of Dhyana at the outset while commencing into the path of true spirituality. Yoga therefore is not a mere subject or a concept but a culture in DJJS family. For these regular practitioners of Dhyana, International Yoga Day is a more than welcome move.
Living the philosophy of union of individual Consciousness with the universal Consciousness through the Vedic principle – swasmin tishthati iti swasthah; DJJS ‘Aarogya’ believes in perfect harmony between mind, body and soul as the definition of complete health and well-being of an individual.
On the auspicious 21st day of June which according to ancient Vedic calendar holds great significance as the summer solstice marks the transition from Uttrayana to Dakshinayana, this year in 2016, the organization conducted number of ‘Vilakshan Yog Shivirs’ across the length and breadth of the country as well as offshore.
