A smile is far more than an expression - it is a reflection of health, confidence and dignity. Yet, for many elderly and economically disadvantaged individuals, tooth loss silently affects every aspect of daily living. The inability to chew food properly often leads to poor nutrition and digestive concerns, while difficulty in speaking can create hesitation in communication.

Beyond these physical challenges, the emotional impact is equally profound - loss of self-esteem, diminished confidence and a growing tendency to withdraw from social interactions. What begins as a dental concern gradually affects overall well-being and quality of life. Unfortunately, due to the high cost and limited access to specialized dental care, these issues often remain unaddressed. Recognizing this critical gap, DJJS Aarogya continues to extend compassionate healthcare services, restoring not just oral health but also the dignity and confidence that come with a healthy smile.
In this spirit, DJJS Aarogya, in collaboration with Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences (PGIDS), Rohtak, Haryana organized a Specialized 3-Day Free Denture Camp at Divya Dham centre, Delhi on April 18, 20, and 22, 2026.

Serving a rural population across more than 66 villages around Divya Dham Centre — where denture services are rarely accessible — the camp focused on elderly individuals suffering from tooth loss, chewing difficulties, and nutritional challenges. Since many senior citizens depend on family members and cannot travel repeatedly for treatment, services were brought directly to the community. Unlike regular dental camps that refer patients elsewhere, this initiative provided complete denture care under one roof — from screening and measurements to fabrication and final fitting. Impressions were taken on April 18, 2026, and dentures were fitted on April 22, 2026, the concluding day, ensuring both efficiency and convenience.
The 3-Day Denture Camp was an initiative organized as an extension of a 5-year collaboration with PGIDS, which has been ongoing since 2018. Dr. Manjunath B.C., Senior Professor & Head of Department (PGIDS) led the initiative along with a dedicated team of 16 senior doctors, postgraduate students and interns. The team comprised experienced experts, including Professors, Associate Professors and senior doctors from the Department of Prosthodontics, as well as senior specialists from the Department of Public Health Dentistry. Their combined expertise ensured the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive dental care to all beneficiaries.
Key services included:
- Oral examinations and dental screenings
- Denture assessment and treatment planning
- Impression procedures and denture fabrication
- Expert consultations and oral hygiene guidance
What set the initiative apart was its compassionate, start-to-end services delivered in a single camp, with no follow-up calls required at the PGIDS facility — a place often difficult for older patients to reach. In this setup, every beneficiary felt heard, cared for, and valued.
Over three days, the camp benefited more than 82 individuals — many experiencing improved chewing ability, clearer speech, and renewed confidence. For several elderly participants, this was not merely about receiving dentures; it was about regaining the confidence to smile once again.
Given the success of this 3-day denture camp, similar camps are now planned every three months to ensure sustained healthcare outreach.
Through such initiatives, DJJS Aarogya continues to bridge healthcare gaps, restore dignity, and bring hope to underserved communities—one smile at a time.
