To underscore the ancient tradition of selfless giving as an essential spiritual practice in the present age of Kaliyuga and to encourage the devotees to reflect on their own contributions to the welfare of others, ‘Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’ organized a mesmerizing theatrical play titled ‘Daan (Kaliyuga Ka Kalpvriksha)’ on 30th January 2025 as part of the ‘Natyotsava-theatrical exclusive’ at ‘Mahakumbh’, Prayagraj. This grand event was an integral part of the ‘Divya Jyoti Chalchitram Series 4’, envisioned under the divine leadership of ‘His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji’. The theatrical presentation, included exceptional performances by self-less volunteers of DJJS and attracted a vast number of pilgrims, devotees, and spiritual seekers. The powerful narrative of the play sought to illustrate how charity, when practiced with genuine love and compassion, transcends material boundaries and contributes to both personal spiritual growth and societal well-being.

DJJS representative, Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji, while introducing the play, gave a profound exploration into the true meaning of ‘Daan’, transcending its conventional monetary interpretation. She eloquently explained that ‘Daan’ is not just about wealth but about giving with the right intention, be it knowledge, kindness, service, or self-realization. Further, she mentioned that in a world that increasingly prioritizes material success and individual gain, the play reinforces the age-old wisdom that true fulfilment comes not through accumulation but through the generous sharing of one’s resources, time, and knowledge. Every instance of ‘Daan’ depicted in the narrative was drawn from the sacred texts, ensuring that the audience grasped the genuine essence of selfless giving as enshrined in our scriptures.
DJJS representative, Sadhvi Padmahasta Bharti Ji, further gave an enlightening explanation on the theme of the play- ‘Daan (Kaliyuga Ka Kalpvriksha)’. Drawing inspiration from the mythological ‘Kalpavriksha’- the wish-fulfilling tree, she explained that the play symbolized charity as a divine act capable of fostering positive change in the world, regardless of the challenging circumstances of modern times. In the play, the ‘Kalpavriksha’ was symbolic of the transformative potential of charity, suggesting that selfless giving can fulfill both worldly and spiritual desires, fostering peace, harmony, and enlightenment. She emphasized that only when an individual receives ‘Brahm Gyan’ from a true spiritual master can they discern between superficial charity and authentic selfless giving. True ‘Daan’, she explained, is an offering made without expectation, one that nurtures both the giver and the receiver on a spiritual level.

Adding to the spiritual grandeur of the event, 100 students from ‘Gyan Jyoti Gurukulam’, Riwala Dham, Kotputli, Rajasthan, along with their Gurukul Head, ‘Swami Ganeshanand Ji Maharaj’, were present to witness the play, making the experience even more enriching. The play received an overwhelmingly positive response from the media outlets who reported feeling deeply moved by the play’s message. Several attendees expressed that the performance reignited their understanding of charity—not merely as a material exchange but as an act of service that can contribute to the collective well-being of society and the spiritual growth of individuals. Verily, the ‘Daan’ play offered a timeless message of selflessness, compassion, and spiritual fulfillment. The performance was not only a cultural enrichment but also a spiritual awakening, urging the audience to embrace the true meaning of charity in their own lives.
