In ancient Bharat, the education system was based on the guru-shishya tradition. The word gurukula is a combination of the Sanskrit words guru means 'teacher' or 'master' and kula means 'family' or 'home'. The gurukul system of education prescribed to sacred Vedic knowledge and wisdom. To reinstate the glory of Vedic culture, Divya Jyoti Ved Mandir was established under the blessings and guidance of our revered Gurudev Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
To reckon with the thought of promulgating Vedic knowledge to the masses, the preachers of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan - Sadhvi Kapila Bharti Ji, Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji, Swami Prakashanand Ji and DJVM volunteers visited Arya Kanya Gurukul, Ludhiana, Punjab on 17th May, 2022. The team met the Gurukul Principal, Shri Mohan Lal Kalra. This Gurukul is one of its kind in Ludhiana, Punjab where young girls along with conventional knowledge are also learning and practicing traditional Vedic literature, mantras and performing yajnas, etc.
The students at Gurukul, chanted Vedic mantras and recited devotional prayers, followed by performing Vedic Yajna with DJJS preachers and DJVM volunteers participating as yajamaan (host). Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji addressed the students by elucidating the importance of Vedic culture and its heritage, while emphasising how DJVM is dedicatedly working towards propagating and re-establishing the Vedic heritage of Sanskrit language across the world under the divine guidance of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. The Principal, Shri Mohan Lal Kalra, appreciated the endeavors of DJVM by signing the letter of endorsement praising and acknowledging the initiatives of Divya Jyoti Ved Mandir (DJVM). The event was concluded with a group photo session of all the students, teachers of Arya Kanya Gurukul and DJJS representatives.
