‘Cleanliness leads to Godliness’ – a famous saying which everyone has learnt in the early childhood days however, the application of the saying is visible only in the personal and immediate surrounding of an individual. Mostly people take public places for granted and continue to litter them despite know- how of cleanliness. Bearing this notion in mind, DJJS under the banner of its Nature Conservation Program, Sanrakshan, has aligned a cleanliness drive as a norm with its spiritual events in public places to set an example and steer locals on the path of pro-active environmental conservation action.

In the same series, the said drive was undertaken by Nature Conservators of DJJS Karkardoma Centre. Wearing protective gloves and facemasks, the volunteers went around the ground picking up all sorts of wastes and disinfecting sites with neem- based disinfectants. “Our idea is not just one time cleaning, we are just setting an example that it is our responsibility to keep our surroundings clean, and we want locals to take this further and ensure maintenance” informed one of the DJJS Nature Conservator.
