Human beings are just flesh and bones without an enlightened mind and soul. An individual who is in bondage cannot emancipate another individual in the same state. It is the Guru who can emancipate His disciples as he is himself liberated. Our close ones can take care of our physical and mental health. But it is only the Guru who takes care of our spiritual growth. A mother and father help sustain the body of their child, and nurture and guide the child through the formative years of his life to adulthood whereas The Guru sustains, nurtures, and guides the soul through lifetimes to ultimate liberation.

Guru Purnima Celebrations Rejuvenated Spirits on the Path of Devotion at Divya Dham Ashram, Delhi

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (“DJJS”) organized spiritual program at Divya Dham Ashram, New Delhi on 21st July, 2019 to express the purest and reverential feelings of love and gratitude towards Gurudev. This day marked the dawn of a spiritual new year where disciples embarked upon with new enthusiasm, resolutions and rejuvenated spirits on the path of devotion. The program commenced with chanting of Ved Mantras that purified the ambience. Various devotional, melodious bhajans were sung which filled the hearts of audience with immense devotion and dedication. The spell-binding skit on Guru-Disciple relationship touched the heart of Devotees. Praying for the well-being of all, disciples meditated collectively and vowed to contribute fully to Satguru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji’s grand mission of global peace.

Various preachers of the organization led the masses throughout the event with devotion filled sermons. It was beautifully explained that scriptures has placed the Guru on a higher pedestal than God; because, it is not God, but the Guru who teaches spiritual practice to the seeker for God-realization, gets it done from him and also helps him realize God. The Guru serves the ultimate and essential role of helping the soul accomplish its journey and reach the goal. It is the Guru who helps put an end to infinite cycle of life and death and frees the person from worldly limitations of body and mind. The Guru’s grace and blessings helps the disciple to move on the path of spirituality, giving him various opportunities to learn and grow. The Guru has the unfaltering patience even with the most obtuse, his compassion and humanity with those in trouble, his respect for all, no matter how erring, and we are not just inspired, but transformed.

The relationship of the Guru and the disciple is the heart to heart link in which his love, knowledge and grace flows provided the disciple is pure and is ready to receive. He is not there in the disciple’s life to give him what he desires, but to give him that which is needed to progress spiritually. He characteristically plays the role of a Generator, Operator and Destroyer (GOD) for his disciple and leads him all the way to eternity from mortality. Hence, worshipping the Guru holds a great importance in the life of a disciple.

Cherishing the invaluable blessings in the form of divine discourse, all the devotees were filled with ecstasy and vouched to remain steadfast on the path of divinity till their last breath.
