Sanskarshala is one of its kind monthly workshops that are organised for children aged 4 to 12 years by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’s (DJJS) holistic education program Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK). The theme for June month’s Sanskarshala was Kalatmak Sanskarshala. DJJS Manthan SVK has been a pioneering change to lead the way for the future generations to be fully equipped with a holistic development. Bharat is bountiful with its diverse yet incredible heritage culture. By introducing children to the traditional artforms of Bharat, Sanskarshala workshops aim to ignite their curiosity, foster their creativity, and nurture their appreciation for diverse cultural expressions.
In the month of June 2023, 70 Kalatmak Sanskarshalas were conducted that benefited approximately 3390 children across all the globally located DJJS branches as well as in various schools namely, Government High School in Bidar, Karnataka, BSB Excellent Public School, Government Ashram Shale for Tribal Children in Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka and Primary School in Etah, Uttar Pradesh.
These workshops were initiated with group chanting and meditation by DJJS Preachers and DJJS Manthan SVK volunteers which created a divine ambience for children attending the sessions. DJJS Preachers conducted Kalatmak Sanskarshalas through interactive presentations that engaged young minds to explore a plethora of life skills. Children growing up in Bharat’s society have naturally adapted the sense and style of our traditional art that has been practised in our country for ages. Introducing children to folk and traditional art has more benefits and it enriches their lives overall development. The influence promotes creativity, helps to think out of the box, develops motor skills, improves vocabulary, helps to socialise more etc.
Culture plays an important role in the development of any nation. Bharat’s culture contains distinctive creative forms and customs that are closely related to our sense of social identity. The modest, ethnic, colourful, and vivid folk and tribal arts of Bharat speak volumes about our heritage and ongoing past. Traditional classical arts serve as historical and social artefacts that link us to the essence of our nation. Through Sanskarshala workshops, DJJS Manthan SVK offers the right blend of education that makes children culturally aware and encourages them to continue appreciating all artforms. With such inspirational workshops Manthanites were engaged with fun activities such as quiz and Q&A sessions. Children discovered the importance of our inherent art and culture which not only makes us unique, but has also found its way into the hearts and minds of people across the globe. It is important to celebrate what we have and be proud of our uniqueness.
Children anticipate more such engaging and morally equipped monthly workshops of Sanskarshala organised by DJJS Manthan SVK. On that note, the workshops concluded with the chanting of shanti mantra and prayers. Everyone paid their humble salutations unto the lotus feet of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
