The Drug Abuse Eradication Program of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, Bodh, celebrated I-eve under the theme ‘MUKTI - a step towards complete freedom’, at its various branches across the nation. Some of the areas covered are Latur, Chakan, Patahardi, Ahmednangar and Nagpur in Maharashtra, Vishnu Garden &Patel Nagar in Delhi, Gorakhpur & Bareily in Uttarpradesh, Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Jalandhar in Punjab. We were able to reach these target places, by conducting rallies, street plays, lectures, road shows, exhibitions, quiz contests, discussions etc., indicating a new perspective i.e. “Freedom at the outset means nothing until or unless you are free from within”, on the auspicious occasion of the 68th Independence Day of our nation.
In this way, these multifaceted modes of presentations, further question the longstanding definition of independence of the masses and also motivated them to be free not only at the gross level but also strive harder, in order for having the freedom from mental obsessions and the cage of bad habits.
DJJS preachers, disciples of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, head and founder of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, also having expertise on various subjects relating to drug abuse, highlighted upon the various indicators of true independence picturing the vision of ‘Ideal Society’ from Indian mythology.
“Though we are celebrating the 68th birthday of our country, still, the present situation concerning the alarming rise in the cases of death because of drug overdose, violence and crime due to drug abuse at workplaces, rise in no. of drug users and addicts at Schools and in communities, decreasing average age of abusing drugs and many more, questions the intention behind the celebration of Independence. These questions clearly hint at the consequences of understanding independence in a misconstrued, mistaken, misunderstood and misinterpreted manner”, exclaimed DJJS preachers.
They further emphasized upon how Independence day gets celebrated currently as well by saying – “In the contemporary era, with the changing technology every day, the way of celebrating Independence Day has also acquired a new shape. This day of utmost importance in our Indian history, has only been confined to a day of flying kites, playing loud music, leisurely national holiday, entrapment into alluring offers, as in, ‘Sabse Sasta Sabse Acha’ ,‘freedom from beauty problems, boozing, gambling and some of which, can't even be expressed due to its irrelevance”.
In view of this straightforward observation, The Drug Abuse Eradication Program of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, Bodh, pays its indomitable efforts in order for directing all the citizens towards energizing the entire mankind to question the already preconceived definition of independence of our existence.
DJJS' Preachers, as the torchbearers also showed the light of realization, focusing upon the need of the hour and specifically discussed on what our contributions should be to maintain the symbolic import of independence, which must be imbibed by every citizen of the nation, true to its meaning. Similarly, how having right knowledge and correct information, with the ‘knowledge of the self i.e. ‘Brahm Gyan’, we as a nation can take inclusive decisions, in order to devise and implement the measures in combating drug abuse and its addiction. We also through pledges and signature campaigns, make our efforts be noticed and reach the masses, so that it doesn't simply vanish, along with the pace of the rainbow.
Bodh- the drug abuse eradication program of DJJS, works for the elimination of drug abuse and eradication of drug demand through ‘Dhyan Therapy’ , thereby transforming the drug afflicted society into an abuse free society ; where people are mentally, emotionally and spiritually strong to safeguard themselves and the society against drug addiction and substance abuse.
