This is an uncanny world with the weirdest of home-sapiens that are more inclined towards materialistic pursuits than the spiritual dynamism. They relate to evidences and theories rather than the sacred beliefs. They recognize science and technology but are ignorant about religion. A great deal has transpired in time. The modern culture has gripped the entire sphere in its strong influence.  Only a small section of humankind owns faith on ancient scriptures or the Supreme Being. At stake are the religious principles that we have always cherished. Will they outlast or shall some new abhorrent set of values win the day? Mankind today is at the critical period of history and our actions will determine whether we shall prevail or slide into some new dark shady era. To enable the society to survive well, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) under the benign grace of his founder and H.H Ashutosh Maharaj Ji has embarked upon the task to uplift the humankind from the cultural decay that has trapped this society. Its prime objective is to enlighten the mortal beings about the true meaning of Spirituality and Dharma. It focuses upon preaching spiritual values, integrity and equality. For the devotees of Pathankot, Punjab DJJS organised 7 days Shri Krishna Katha from 19th to 23rd October 2019. The soulful event commenced by paying homage at the lotus feet of lord Krishna followed by multiple mantras and hymns that were chanted by the disciples of our revered master.

The orator Sadhvi Bhagyashri Bharti Ji illustrated numerous meaningful tales from the history of Shri Krishna and how they impacted the life of a common man. She exemplified the game of dice between Kauravas and Pandavas and how Pandavas lost all their materialistic possessions. In addition they also lost their wife Draupadi in this treacherous game. Draupadi was humiliated and molested in front of the entire assembly and her chastity was threatened. While being disrobed, she prayed to the supreme power Shri Krishna for her rescue who in turn ensured that her honour was protected. A disciple who always obeys and follows his master’s commands is never abandoned during the time of crisis. His Guru is always there to shield him and liberate from all the hurdles ahead.

Maharaj Ji’s disciple further specified another poignant example from Krishna’s life about his friendship with Sudama, who was his former classmate and friend at the Gurukul. Sudama’s poverty had no effect on their friendship. When Sudama went to meet his old pal Krishna, he was greeted with respect and warmth and was helped with riches without his knowledge. Our Guru never discriminates between rich or those who are less fortunate. For him, all his disciples are alike and he loves them equally. The event was a great success as the audience left the venue with a pledge to pursue spirituality.
