Date: April 9, 2025

Venue: Main Building Auditorium, Indus University, Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad: Reinforcing the fundamental principle of gender equality, the women empowerment and gender equality initiative ‘Santulan’ by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) organized a meaningful women empowerment workshop titled “Equality, Not Extremism” at Indus University, Ahmedabad. The workshop aimed to dispel the misconceptions of prevailing extremist ideologies and guide society toward true and balanced empowerment.
The event commenced with a traditional welcome of the guests with tilak and mauli. To help participants recognize their role and impact in society, they were invited to write their name, profile, and a message on colorful pieces of paper and place them in an Acknowledgement Jar.
The main stage program began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting, performed by the honorable representative of Indus University [Name of Esteemed Guest], [Designation], DJJS representative Sadhvi _ Ji, and other distinguished guests.
A highlight of the event was the activity “Super Woman in Your Life and Her Superpower”, which inspired participants to share the qualities of inspiring women in their lives, creating an emotionally charged atmosphere on stage.
This was followed by a sensitive and thought-provoking theatrical performance on the theme of Toxic Feminism. The play compelled the audience to reflect on whether, in the name of extreme feminism, we are inadvertently promoting hatred, injustice, and gender imbalance toward men.
Next, an interactive activity called “Myth vs. Fact Polling” explored gender stereotypes, with the young audience participating enthusiastically.
The event continued with a ballet performance based on the life of India’s young wrestler AntimPhangal, showcasing how a girl from a rural background overcomes adversity to bring glory to the nation. This performance deeply moved the audience, delivering the message that a woman is not limited—she is boundless.
Furthering the program, DJJS preacher Sadhvi _ Bharti Ji introduced the ‘Tu Hai Shakti 2.0’ campaign. She explained that this campaign connects women not just with their external identity but with their inner divine essence, aiming to awaken their inner strength. It not only makes them aware of their rights but also inspires them to fulfill their responsibilities toward society.
Following this, the Tu Hai Shakti 2.0 documentary was screened, shedding light on the true meaning of empowerment.
In the final segment, Peer Educators associated with the Tu Hai Shakti 2.0 campaign were honored on stage for their efforts in spreading the campaign’s message to schools, colleges, and various sections of society.
The event concluded with a joint vote of thanks by DJJS and Indus University. Enthusiastic students captured memories of the event through Guest Testimonials and selfies, expressing immense appreciation for the program.
This event was one of Santulan’s many initiatives that inspire society to establish a balance between rights and responsibilities, thoughts, and actions.
